OCIVO measures distance and near vision for each eye, checks for problems a letter chart misses, and tells every person exactly what to do next. It runs in a clinic, at home, and for the whole family.
What a screen checks
Every screen measures vision. The clinic chooses which extra checks to add, and OCIVO offers each one only at the ages it suits.
Distance vision, each eye
A tumbling E at 3 metres, sized to the screen after a quick bank-card calibration.
All ages · children 3–7 match H, O, T and V letters insteadPinhole check
Only when an eye falls short: tells glasses apart from a problem that needs a doctor.
Age 8 and overNear vision
At reading distance, both eyes together.
Age 8 and overMacular grid
Tap any square that looks wavy or missing, one eye at a time.
Age 12 and overContrast vision
A pale E that picks up loss a black-on-white chart can miss.
Age 12 and overColour vision
Eight plates: find the gap in a coloured ring.
Age 5 and over · research module3D vision
A shape hidden in dots, seen only when both eyes work together. Picks up lazy eye and eye turns.
Ages 3–11 · red-cyan glassesBlood pressure and sugar
Typed in, or read from DoktorConnect devices, because high blood pressure and diabetes damage the eyes quietly.
Adults, at the clinic
How a screen goes
Eight to ten minutes from the first tap to the result. OCIVO skips any step a person does not need.
Safety questions
A sudden change, a curtain over the vision or a painful red eye stops the screen and sends the person for care today.
About you
Glasses, diabetes, blood pressure and family history shape the eye-health risk profile.
Set up the phone
Hold a bank card to the screen, step back to the marked distance, cover one eye.
Answer the letters
Say or show which way the E points. A helper can tap for you. Guessing is fine.
Extra checks
Whichever the clinic has chosen and the age allows.
Your next step
A clear result, a plain-language report, and a follow-up with reminders when action is needed.
Who it is for
Clinics
- Register patients by file number, not name
- Every screen signed by the staff member who ran it
- Follow-ups, a call list and text reminders
- New staff join by request and wait for approval
- Share each result through a private link
Families
- Keep screening at home with the code your clinic gave you
- Add your children and parents to your account
- Invite adults to test on their own phone
- See your trend over the years
- Children from age 3, with a report written for parents
Researchers
- Reference eye exams recorded against each screen
- Agreement and accuracy with confidence intervals
- De-identified data from consenting patients only
- Access granted per clinic by a platform admin
Every result ends with one next step
The colour tells the person how soon to act. The report explains it in plain words and never names a diagnosis.
- Get care todayA red flag, severe loss, or very high blood pressure
- See an eye doctorLoss glasses will not fix, a gap between the eyes, or a failed extra check
- Get your eyes checked for glassesLoss that improves through a pinhole
- Test againThe screen was not reliable enough to decide
- Book an eye health checkVision is fine, but risk factors need a proper look
- Screen passedEvery line met; screen again when due
What OCIVO is, and is not
A screen, not an eye examination
It finds who needs an eye professional. It cannot find every eye problem, and a pass does not mean the eyes are healthy.
Pass lines under clinical review
Co-designed with consultant ophthalmologists. Every threshold stays provisional until they sign it off and the validation study reports.
Private by design
Clinics use codes, not names. Researchers see de-identified data only. Camera checks never save or send a picture.
